Feedback On Flashback Effects
We showed the flashback effects to some people to gain feedback. We will consider the feedback to alter our music video.
Sepia
- More traditional flashback effect, along with Black and white.
- Associated with past, history (Old photographs).
- Colour change is obvious for flashback.
Light rays
- Looks aesthetically good.
- More interesting.
- Not very subtle.
- Doesn't blend well with previous clips, non flashbacks.
Soft focus
- Just looks like the footage is out of focus.
- Blurred like a memory, imperfect, works with idea.
- More subtle than others to show flashbacks.
- Unfocused footage isn't normally associated with a flashback.
No effect
- fits well, continuation of story.
- Idea comes across with the fading away at the end.
- The memory blends with 'real life' like the character wants to relive it again.
- Unconventional for a flashback to have no effect.

Feedback On Rough Cut
The train sequence could start with him and girl then him on his own. X
Lots of 'aww-ing' so the video was effective. ✓
Lighting on train sequence isn't quite right, needs to be brighter. X
Hand on piano seat is abrupt and a quick cut. X
Syncing of guitar and hands are out in a few scenes. X
Guitar playing in the middle was like a 'filler' X
Needs to be more 'All killer no filler' X
Minor mistakes but on the whole good response. ✓

We will try and improve on all that we can from this feedback for our final cut. We will consider re-filming parts but with little time left we will see how the weather holds up as it's now the rainy season.

Feedback On Magazine Advert
We got the other media class to look at our magazine advert and voice their opinions on the image and to gain feedback on what we can improve.
They said they liked the 5 stars and quote from the magazine we made 'Acoustica'.
They liked the different fonts on the advert but they said the size's need to be re-thought as the bottom line doesn't look too aesthetically pleasing.
By taking this on board we will improve what we can to our magazine advert.
More Feedback For Video!
We showed our music video so far to the other media group and got the response from the target audience, mid-late teens.
They liked the style of the video, part narrative, part performance. However, the performance wasn't very convincing to some people especially the strumming of the guitar. We find this hard to work on as the actor playing the artist doesn't know how to play guitar properly. We will try and focus on doing more CU shots to avoid the guitar playing being noticed.
They also 'aww-ed' at the romantic scenes in the video which showed good response as they are relating to the character and feeling sympathy towards the artist.

Feedback so far
We have just started editing our video footage and we are about minute into the music video. Earlier we received some comments and feedback from other groups and our teacher on our progress so far. These are some below

These feedback will be helpful as we can see what the audience think of the video already, before it is finished. so then we can make changes on the aspects that need changes both in the editing and filming.

Feedback On Photoshop
We showed the 'disaster' to some other people to make sure we weren't being to critical on the image. We found that they also agreed with us and that the image didn't seem to look nice. The colours didn't blend well and it was over-edited. We decided to go on another shoot and try simpler ideas for the ancillary tasks.

Animatic Audience Feedback
We found that most people would recognize black and white as a past time. This is because it's the norm and used in most films and videos.
However, Some people liked the artistic idea of the colour being the memory, as the world is brighter with someone you love. They thought it might be too complex however for a music video. They thought it made more sense this way but it is more conventional for the memories to be black and white.
We want to experiment with the idea of trying to incorperate a mixture of colour and greyscale. Looking at the film 'sin city', we liked the way throughout the film, only significant items/things were in colour while the rest of the footage is black and white.
Overall, the audience said that the animatic fitted well with the song. It didn't need quick shots beacuase the song is slow paced.

Pitch And Feedback
Last week Friday, we pitched our ideas and research to the teacher and other groups. The [ith went well and we received feedbacks from the groups and teacher. Majority of the feedbacks were positive with few suggestion on improvement. One insue that was most refered by the group was the odering of post on our blog. We have seen into the issue and re-orderd the posts so that it is easier to understand the developement of our research and proogrress of our work. Most people liked the way we potrayed our target audince, the use of test videos and diffenent variety in our presentation.
Below are the group feebacks from Friday on our pitch and blog. I intenteional edited them into scrap paper layouts just to give the blog that kind of "songwriting" feel to it.

Audience Research
I interviewed a few people to see their instant opinions of the song we chose. I tried to interview people of different ages and different genders as music reaches out to a broad audience.
Although his main audience is female teenagers it show that his music reaches out to others as well. The majority liked the song and would buy it either as a single or on itunes.
I asked what their favourite band was to see if there was a correlation between the music they listen to normally, and this song. As music is so broad it was hard to put a link to it. The closest I could link with this song is that most of the other favourite artists/bands are lyrical and meaningful.
